Seeking Trilingual/Quadrilingual Project Assistant

I’m a visual artist and social practitioner working across many media. I am currently fundraising for a community-engaged project in 2024 serving Spanish-speaking and Chinese-speaking constituents.

Skills

Seeking candidates who are fluent in Spanish, Cantonese, and Mandarin. (Candidates who are fluent in Spanish and Cantonese, or Spanish and Mandarin will also be considered.) Must be culturally competent and sensitive to Latinx and Chinese constituents of diverse backgrounds, personal histories, ages, abilities, etc.

In addition to the above qualifications, the ideal candidate:

  • Is emotionally intelligent, humble, kind, patient, and nonjudgmental to cultivate a safe space for participants.
  • Has strong social, interpersonal, and professional skills (must be communicative and cooperative) to maintain strong collaborations and partnerships.
  • Is skilled in administration, project coordination, and constituent relations.
  • Is comfortable with Google docs, translation, interpretation, text, email, Zoom, etc.
  • Is familiar with art, especially social practice and two-dimensional art.

Qualities Desired

I work best with people who are reliable, tidy, organized, punctual, communicative, responsible, and comfortable taking direction and clarifying any areas of uncertainty; who have a strong attention to detail, emotional self-regulation skills, and good boundaries.

As an artist, I am committed to supporting BIPOC, womxn, and LGBTQ+ artists based in the SF Bay Area. All candidates will be considered.

Location

Please be available to attend up to six in-person workshops in San Francisco over the summer of 2024. There’s also a possibility of travel for professional development.

Compensation

Negotiable/To be determined. (I am currently raising funds, and the scope of the entire project and amount of hours required will shift accordingly.)
