I recently conducted the Artists’ Personal Impacts Survey to learn about artist’s attitudes, behaviors, and outlooks. It’s research for Thought Experiments in Agency, a new, long-term research project on artists’ agency.
The public was invited to take the survey online and in-person at the Open Studios with LMCC’s Process Space artists-in-residence on Governors Island from September 26–27. I’m a studio resident in that program from August to December.
I’m using the data to develop new works—such as drawings, data visualizations, or a ‘zine—this fall. In spring 2016, I’ll develop printed and participatory projects as a Fellow at Kala Art Institute in Berkeley, CA.
From September 16 to October 7, 2015, eligible entrants could enter a raffle for my Irrational Exuberance (Asst. Colors) Mini Flags. All prizes have been awarded. The raffle is now closed.
I’ll hold five raffle drawings. Eight flags (#3–10, starting with #10) will be raffled off at the Open Studios on September 26–27, 2015, at 2pm and 4pm. The last two flags (#1 and 2) will be raffled off at a later date. Winning numbers will be posted here, and winners will be contacted by email. I’ll ship prizes to winners. CWY is not responsible for any failed email transmissions, lost or incomplete deliveries, or replacement prizes. CWY reserves the right to disqualify entries for incompleteness, malfeasance, or dubious definitions of ‘fine artist.’ Raffle entrants shall indemnify Christine Wong Yap from any and all claims, injuries, losses, or suits arising out of or in connection with this raffle, survey, and the Mini Irrational Exuberance Flags. Raffle entry is for the Mini Irrational Exuberance Flags only. Winner is solely responsible for any and all applicable federal, state, and local taxes (including where applicable sales tax) due for an awarded prize. By entering Raffle, participants agree: a) To be bound by these rules; b) that winning is contingent upon fulfilling all the requirements of these rules; c) that the decisions of CWY shall be final and binding in all respects. Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received.
